RULES FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE 2018 AUCTION

  • You must be an IPABRA member in good standing, with your dues current and up to date, in order to consign pedigrees to the auction OR to bid on them.  (Just being a member of the email group or Facebook group is not enough; you must be a dues-paid member!)
  • You are limited to consigning a TOTAL of 15 pedigrees to the auction.  These can be all in one breed, or a combination of different breeds.
    • Note that since we are working out the kinks in the new system we aren’t going to have any Breeding Family entries for 2018.
  • All IDs must be submitted via the Google Form posted online.  You need to complete the entire form to submit an ID. If you do not have a Google account you will need to create one (they are free and easy to create).
    • Each ID submission requires the consignor to upload THE ACTUAL PEDIGREE (certificate-pedigree, bloodline information) at the time the lot is consigned. This is meant ONLY as a “back-up” copy, as we have previously had some problems with winning bidders not getting the pedigrees that they have paid for.
    • We have a fillable pdf form available to use for your pedigree. Note that Microsoft Edge and fillable pdf files do not play well together. We recommend using a different browser.
    • The PDF file must be 10mb or smaller.
  • The consignor sets the minimum price for the ID and the percentage donation to IPABRA.  The minimum percent of the hammer (final) price must be 50% or greater.
  • The sire and dam of the “foal” must be models or BSOs, preferably owned by an IPABRA member but they may be owned by someone outside the club.  The IPABRA auction is intended to promote model breeding.  The grandparents, etc. may be real, but the immediate parents must be models.  The ONLY exception to this is if YOU personally own the real horse(s).  If you own the real parents, then you can submit a foal with real parents.
  • The link to the auction catalog will be published in the IPABRA’s newsletter, Bloodlines, along with the dates and information on how to bid.  Information will also be posted to the IPABRA Yahoo group & Facebook group.
  • Winning bidders have until 30 August, 2018 to finalize details of IDs won and to submit that information to consignors.  If the winning bidder has not finalized any “open” details at the end of August 2018 for lots won in the auction then the consignor can “reclaim” the foal/foaling year for their own purposes.
